Gator Gubba® Sunscreen Lotion with Parsol® 1789

Gator Gubba Sunscreen lotion with Parsol® 1789 provide broad spectrum UVA1, UVA2, and UVB protection. Gator Gubba Sunscreen has the smooth feel of a moisturizing lotion with the protection of a sunscreen. Gator Gubba’s fragrance free formula is non-greasy, non-oily and PABA free. Plus, natural skin conditioners and antioxidants Vitamin E, Aloe, Sea Kelp, Shea Butter, and Avocado Oil.

Sunscreen Photostability

Most sunscreen agents lose their potency as they are exposed to light. They degrade as they absorb the sun. One of the best examples of this phenomenon is avobenzone, better known as Parsol® 1789 – the best UVA absorber in the United States. Sunscreen products with this important active ingredient must be carefully formulated to keep it photostable. Otherwise, the UVA protection disappears quickly when exposed to sunlight.

Gator Gubba Sunscreens are formulated by using advanced stabilizing technology that assures long lasting photostable UV protection.

Certain sunscreen agents react poorly together and their protection potency declines dramatically in the sun. An example of one such combination is octinoxate, a commonly used sunscreen agent, combined with Parsol® 1789. Gator Gubba Sunscreen Lotions do not use this combination. What UV light reach the earth's surface?

Most UV light is blocked out by the earths ozone layer (30,000-60,000 feet above sea level). The UV light blocked by the ozone is all of the UVC and large amounts of the UVB light. UVA, on the other hand, is not blocked by the ozone layer and reaches the surface of the earth in large amounts.

What is Parsol® 1789?

Avobenzone, also known as Parsol® 1789 has been approved for use in the United States since 1997 (and around the world since 1981). Unlike other organic UVA filters currently being used in sun care and skin care, which protect against the shorter wave length UVA II rays (320 - 340 nm) , Parsol® 1789 provides Broad-Spectrum protection throughout the entire spectrum, including the longer wave lenght UVA I (340 - 400 nm).
